Corner Storage

Using corner storage can be an excellent space saver as well great at keeping things organized and tidy. This kind of storage can be used in almost any room and there are various different corner solutions for the whole household. It is actually surprising that most people do not think to use their corners as they provides so much extra space in a room.

The bathroom is one room that can really benefit from utilizing every corner for storage. This is usually one of the smallest rooms in the house but is packed full of lotions, shampoos and other beauty products. A corner vanity unit would hold these easily, keeping them tidy and making your bathroom look less cluttered. As vanity units have mirrors on them, this will make your bathroom look bigger. The corner unit takes up less space than an ordinary rectangle one and with all the clutter inside it; your bathroom actually will be bigger.

It is also possible to get corner racks for inside your shower or bath. These are very handy for when you are washing as it means you can have you shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, razor and anything else you need to hand and your shower floor and bath can be clutter free. Obviously if you have a square shower unit, a corner unit is really the only thing that will fit in properly.

In your sitting room or dining room, a corner cabinet might come in useful. Corner cabinets made of dark wood with windowed doors look very stylish and elegant and do not take up nearly as much room as an imposing, rectangle cabinet. They can be used for many things, but in the kitchen or dining room they are excellent for showcasing beautiful glassware or decorative plates. In the sitting room they can be filled with photographs or ornaments and dried flower arrangements. Corner cabinets do not have to be used for essential storage if you do not need it, but are also just beautiful pieces of furniture that will make your home look lovely. Perhaps if you do want to use a cabinet just as a display unit, a corner one would be better because it does not take up much room. You can then save your larger, straight cabinets for things that you really need to store out of the way.

The simplest way to add extra storage to your home is with a corner shelf. These are sold wherever normal straight shelves are sold and they are easy to put up. They provide plenty of extra storage, although admittedly they are not great for books!

In the sitting room, you may have your television sat on top of a straight unit angled across two walls so it is visible to everyone in the room. If this was sat on top of a corner unit instead, the television would not come out so far into the room. Although this might seem like only a small space difference, in a small room you need all the space you can get. Corner storage is one of the best space savers.
